Revlon Photoready Cream Blush Review

13 Aug

In the last month or so, there has been a lot of hype over the new Revlon Photoready Collection. While browsing around the store, I came across their photoready cream blushes. The blush is available in three shades: coral reef, pinched and flushed. I only picked up one color since the price was high($11.99) for a drugstore cosmetic. The color I picked up was flushed, which is a fuchsia pink. I chose this color because I had nothing similar to it in my makeup collection and the color is perfect for fall/winter.

Texture and Application

The texture of this blush is extremely creamy and easy to apply. I found that the best way to apply this is with your fingers. I dab the blush onto my cheek bones and blend it in. The best part about the blush is that although it looks extremely pigmented in the jar, you can apply it lightly for a slight flush or add more to get a brighter look.

Staying Power

This blush has an okay staying power. I would say it wears for about 3 hours before it starts to fade and I have pretty dry skin. If you need it to last longer, I would recommend layering a powder blush over it.

Over all I would not repurchase this item again. I feel that it is extremely pricey for a drugstore cosmetic and for $12 I expect it to last longer than 3 hours.

OOTD: Chambray Button Down

9 Aug

Hey Guys!

At the moment I am loving the chambray trend. The last few weeks, I have been on a mission for one of these. I finally found one at H&M in the color I like and the fit is amazing! Did I mention it was super affordable at $24.95? The top is super versatile, but I chose to pair it with cut off white denim shorts and átaupe colored rhinestone loafers. Enjoy!

White Denim Shorts from Hollister

Tribal Printed Top

7 Aug

A couple of weeks ago I picked up this Rock & Republic tribal printed top from Kohls. The fabric is super light weight and the colors are perfect for summer and the transition into fall. I wasn’t to sure about the cut out sleeves, but when I tried it on, those sleeves are what sold me on it. Not only are they trendy, but flattering as well. I paired it with my favorite G by Guess skinny jeggings. These jeans are honestly the most comfortable and best fitting jeans I own.

Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Foundation Review

5 Aug

Last week while browsing around the cosmetic aisles in Target, I came across the new Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Foundation. I have been debating for quite sometime on whether or not this product was worth the money. I cracked and decided to pay the $11.49 (sale price) and try it out.á The foundation claims to be buildable to full coverage with a matte finish and 24-hour wear. The color I purchased is in 370 Natural Tan which I feel is the closest to M.A.C NC42. To give you guys my honest reviewá of the product I wore it every day for about 5 days straight.

Texture & Finish

At first glance, the glass packaging of this foundation is sleek and luxurious. The consistency of this foundation is not exactly whipped like it says. I feel that it has more of a pudding like consistency. It is definitely thicker than a liquid, but not a creme. The finish of the foundation leaves more of a satin finish than a matte. It looks natural and just gives your face a flawless look.

Because of the consistency, I found it difficult to find the best way to apply this foundation. I tried a kabuki brush, flat foundation brush and my fingers. After multiple attempts, I found that the best way to apply it was with my fingers. By doing this I was able to distribute the foundation evenly on my skin.

Staying Power

I don’t really agree that it would last 24á hours (I mean who would actually want to have make-up on for that long). On average, I got about 10-12 hours of wear and that is without any touch-ups throughout the day.

After about 3 days of wearing this foundation I started breaking out. I have acne-prone skin, but I have never had a reaction like this towards a foundation. So any one with acne-prone skin beware. All in all, I did like how this foundation looked prior to my breakout and would recommend it to people with non-sensitive skin.

Steve Madden Beauty-L Dupe

1 Aug

How adorable are these shoes? While shopping online I came across these Steve Madden Platforms and went back and forth about buying them especially because of how pricey they were. I checked on a couple of other shoe websites and came across the exact same pair on for less than a third of the price. They are literally identical. What do you think?
