Boots for Fall: Splurge Vs. Steal

16 Oct

Hey Guys!

Here is a blog I did for Flurtsite.com

The Ankle Boot

Ankle boots are a mainstay in our Fall wardrobe. They transition any outfit and are perfect paired with jeans and a blazer. For those of you who are looking for an edgier look, try pairing these with a form-fitting dress. If you know that you will use this as a staple piece in your wardrobe, and youÆre ready to take the plunge and shell some serious moolah, here are a pair of Alexander Mcqueens for $1120. If you are in need of a steal, Macy’s has similar ones by Chinese Laundry for $89.

The Knee High Wedge Boot

The knee high boot is a classic boot that has been around for many seasons. Just recently though, designers have gone from a stiletto to a more realistic wedge. This change has given us high-heel conscious girls more confidence to walk around for hours without the fear of falling over. It also gives our feet some much needed comfort for all hazardous weather conditions. It can be paired with a skirt for a comfortable fall look, or with jeans to add some style. When it comes to a splurge, here is pair from the famous Christian Louboutin for a whopping price of $1895. If you want a similar style without having to break the bank, here is a pair from DSW for just $79.95.

The Riding Boot

Riding boots are no longer just for people who ride or own horses, they have made there way on the catwalk and have made a splash. These boots are perfect paired with leggings, a chambray shirt and a colorful scarf. For a more conservative look, you can switch out the leggings for a pair of dark-colored denim. If you want to splurge on this style, check out these Salvadore Ferragamos for $795. To steal this look for less, check out DSW for these Bandolinos priced at $99.

TheMotorcycle Boot

The motorcycle boot is all the rage this season. They are the perfect ending to a skinny jean whether the jeans are colored, tuxedo, coated or just a basic jean. They compliment feminine florals and softer knits perfectly and complete a bad girl look when paired with a leather jacket. These boots are the perfect amount of drama and edge without going overboard. If you have the extra money to spend, look into these Ash boots from Asos for $543. If a steal is what you are looking for, Kohls is selling these Rock and Republic boots for $58.

Wine Colored Denim

12 Oct

Hey Guys!

I’m sure you guys have noticed that wine colored denim is all the rage this fall. While on a recent trip to the mall, I happened to walk into a Hollister and found these for an extremely reasonal price. I decided to pair them with a simple chiffon polka dot top that I got from Forever21. This top complimented these jewel toned denim perfectly. To complete the look I paired it with some classic black platform heels.

A Touch of Leopard

18 Sep

Hey Guys!

Last Friday during one of my weekly trips to Target, I came across a great bargain! I found these adorable leopard platform sandals for $8.98 marked down from $29.99. The majority of the time that I come across the clearance shoe rack, I always walk away disappointed because they never have my size. When I saw these puppies, I scooped them right up. The leopard print is perfect for this upcoming fall weather and I know I will definitely get my wear out of them. Here are the shoes paired with a simple, yet classic outfit. They literally completed the outfit and were extremely comfortable to walk in. I would recommend checking out your nearest Target.á You will not be disappointed.

Maybelline 24 Hour Color Tattoo Eyeshadow Review

10 Sep

DSC_0537

So I know I’m late on trying these Maybelline 24 hour color tattoo eyeshadows, but I guess it’s better late then never. While browsing around Rite-aid I came across these eyeshadows and decided to try it out. These eyeshadows vary in price from$5 to $8. When I bought them Rite-aid was running a buy one get one half off sale and I ended up getting 2 colors for about $11. The two colors I picked up were bad to the bronze and rich mahogany.

Packaging:

The packaging of these eyeshadows are sleek and luxurious. I love the glass packaging and easy twist off top.

Texture/Application:

The texture of this eyeshadow is extremely creamy, which makes it very easy to apply. I tried applying this with my fingers and also an eyeshadow brush to see what would be the best way to apply it. After multiple attempts I found that when using my fingers, I was able to distribute the product evenly on my eyelid. The best thing about this eyeshadow is that it can be layered to get your desired intensity.

Lasting Power:

The lasting power of this shadow is amazing! The longest I had this eyeshadow on is about 12 hours, and I can honestly say that by the time I was ready to take my makeup off before bed my eye makeup still looked exactly how it did when I put it on. I always use a primer before any shadow and I recommend that you do before using this.

Final Verdict:

Overall, I give this product an A+ and will definitely be purchasing the other colors in this collection.

Tribal Printed Top

7 Aug

A couple of weeks ago I picked up this Rock & Republic tribal printed top from Kohls. The fabric is super light weight and the colors are perfect for summer and the transition into fall. I wasn’t to sure about the cut out sleeves, but when I tried it on, those sleeves are what sold me on it. Not only are they trendy, but flattering as well. I paired it with my favorite G by Guess skinny jeggings. These jeans are honestly the most comfortable and best fitting jeans I own.

Happy Monday Everyone!

Yesterday afternoon my fiance and I tooká drive to the University of Toledo. He graduated with a Bachelors in Computer Science and Engineering over 6 years ago and he hasn’t been back since. I enjoyed walking the campus and being part of his “walk down memory lane.” I loved the stone architecture and decided to take a few photos of what I was wearing. Enjoy!
