Pregnant in Heels: Oscars Edition

8 Mar

This past Sunday, March 2nd marked the annual Oscars. The even was held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Although many of my favorite celebs dazzled in gorgeous gowns, there were three leading ladies that made being pregnant look fabulous! Not only did they look fabulous, but they were rocking there stilettos as well! áHere is my list.

Olivia Wilde looked feminine in her black Valentino gown. The little peek-a-boo of white added more pizazz to the the basic black and those pockets are perfection. I also loved the high neckline and cutout back. Her pulled back touseled hair went perfectly with the simple yet elegant dress.

Kerry Washington who looked like she was ready to pop looked put elegant áin purple Jason Wu gown. The cut and fit was perfect for her growing belly. The draping of the dress and slit added a little bit of sexiness. And look at those legs, she is rocking those pointy toed stilettos which compliment the whole look.

Does Kristin Cavallari ever look bad? Here she is in a white Alexander McQueen gown that had embellished sleeves looking amazing as usual. She justs looks really well put together, but then again doesn’t she always.

You can say I’m a little obsessed with Kristin Cavallari, but come on she looks absolutely stunning in this Kristin Cavallari for Chinese Laundry lace mini dress that she changed into for an Oscars after party. Seriously I am in awe at how gorgeous she looks in this. I can only hope that I look this good pregnant and in heels.

What Were They Thinking? Brit Awards 2014

24 Feb

Wednesday February 9th marked the 2014 Brit Awards.áThis is theááBritish equivalent of the American Grammy Awards. Although there were many beautiful get ups that graced us on the red carpet, there were some that left us saying ” What were they thinking? ” Here are the worst of áthe worst.

First up is Laura Mvula’s white and black high low dress. First off it’s way too short and does not flatter her at all. The fit was terrible and the feathered bottom is just ugly. The whole time I was waiting for her to start the Can Can dance. áOn a positive note, at least her shoes were cute

Lily Allen looked fabulous in her black dress that she wore during the awards show, it’s what she wore to the aftershow that was scary. The bright pink tafetta like dress is hideous and topping it off with an orange lacy bra just made it down right horrible. How can someone put this outfit on and think this looks good? She needs to fire her stylist stat!

Lastly there’s singer Jessie James. I am a huge fan of jumpsuits, but only when they are done right. Unfortunately this was not! To start, the color washes her out and the tight fit and low cut is just trashy. She definitely has the body for it , but I think she needs to try a classier silhouette. And honestly what is with the lilac colored lipstick?

Herve Leger by Max Azria: NYFW Fall 2014

17 Feb

Herve Leger is one of my favorite designers and on Feb. 8 he debut his new 2014 Fall collection at NYFW. He is famously known for his bandage style, body hugging dresses and I am a giant fan! During his show I saw the same silhouettes, but with a twist of naughty and nice. He was heard describing his collection as:

“Diffusing the line between fantasy and reality. Nature-inspired textures are digitally transformed into 3-D jacquards and pixelated metal beading. Contrasting bandages and cage-corset belts frame and define the form. Shieded in arctic furs and exotic feathers, she is fearless and confident.”

This collection has something for everyone and I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on a couple of these pieces.

Victoria Beckham NYFW Fall 2014

13 Feb

Victoria Beckham has been a style icon of mine since she was Posh Spice in the Spice Girls. Her fashion sense has definitely gotten better with age and she rocked it with the debut of her Fall/Winter 2014 Collection at New York Fashion Week. Her collection had a variety of masculinity meets feminity. It includedáátailored coats, loose-fitting trousersáand modest skirts. áShe kept the colors very classic with Black, White and small pops of red. Here are a few of my favorite looks!

Seeing Red

8 Feb

It’s that time again! February 6th marked the first day ofáNew York Fashion Week Fall 2014. áEveryone who is anyone in the industry flocked the streets of New York City to see designers new upcoming Fall lines. The Heart Truth Red Dress Show kicked off the festivities and left everyone seeing red. The month of February is American heart month and the American Heart Association sponsors this red dress show to bring awareness to the issue of heart disease among women. Here are my top pics!

Bella Thorne is a young fashionista and on the rise! Here she is in Badgley Mischka looking amazing in this body hugging high neck gown. Can a 16 year old look any better?

Kat Graham looked phenomenal in this long sleeve snakeskin detailed dress by Mathieu Mirano. This piece is definitely daring and can’ t be worn by everyone. Her hair pulled back is the perfect do to emphasize this statement dress.

Victoria Justice sparkled down the catwalk in this floral applique Oscar De La Renta number. The style and fit worked perfectly for her silhouette and the minimal accessories just tied everything together.

Going for the Gold: Grammys Edition

30 Jan

The 56th Annual Grammy’s Award Show was held this past Sunday January 26th. For actors, musicians, and models this is the time to shine! Many brought it, but these three girls take the cake. They shined “bright like a diamond” in their gold hued dresses. Whether they intended to match the Grammy Award or not, they rocked it!

Taylor Swift stunned in aágold lamÞ Gucci PremiÞre gown. The fit and length was perfect for her svelte silhouette. She looked classy and grown-up in this beautiful number. The sheer top showed just enough skin and an effortless pony tail was the perfect up do to keep the focus on the dress.

Christine Teigen dazzled down the red carpet in this Johanna Johnson gown. The mermaid like style cut and fit showed off her toned physique and model good looks. She looks like a modern day Jessica Rabbit. Her tousled hair pinned to the side is absolute perfection. How can anyone compete?

Rita Ora looked sophisticated and chic in this long sleeve metallic gold Lanvin dress. Her hair has never looked better and her make-up is flawless.

Best and Worst Dressed: SAG Awards 2014

24 Jan

Hey Fashionistas!

This past Saturday January 18th was the 20tháScreen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Hollywood’s top celebs came out to support nominees as well as strut their stuff on the red carpet. While many of my fave celebs stepped it up and looked gorgeus in dazzling gowns, there were definitely outfits that were just down right Ugly. Again, this is my personal opinion and I am in no way persuading you to agree with me. So lets begin!

Lupita NyongÆo

Lupita NyongÆo looked absolutely amazing in this vibrant Gucci gown. The color complimented her perfectly and the form fitted style showed off her slim waist and toned arms. And can we talk about the floral neckline? It’s a statement but without being over the top. Her minimal gold accessories are the perfect pairing to this gorgeous dress. She definitely gets an A+ in my book!

Anna Gunn from the show Breaking Badálookedástatuesque in this midnight blue all over mesh and sequenceáMonique Lhuillier dress. The fit was perfect on her and thatáBreaking Bad inspired clutch is witty and chic!

Big Bang Theoryástar MayimáBialik gothic inspired ágown was a sight for a sore eyes. The lace detail and shiny purple fabric was a terrible combination. It looks as if áshe is on her way to a a Halloween party than an awards show. Poor Blossom!

20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Arrivals

Game of Thronesástar Rose Leslie wore a daringááleopard print skirt with a revealing violet lace top. It was definitely an eyecatcher, but for all the wrong reasons.

Boots for Fall: Splurge Vs. Steal

16 Oct

Hey Guys!

Here is a blog I did for

The Ankle Boot

Ankle boots are a mainstay in our Fall wardrobe. They transition any outfit and are perfect paired with jeans and a blazer. For those of you who are looking for an edgier look, try pairing these with a form-fitting dress. If you know that you will use this as a staple piece in your wardrobe, and youÆre ready to take the plunge and shell some serious moolah, here are a pair of Alexander Mcqueens for $1120. If you are in need of a steal, Macy’s has similar ones by Chinese Laundry for $89.

The Knee High Wedge Boot

The knee high boot is a classic boot that has been around for many seasons. Just recently though, designers have gone from a stiletto to a more realistic wedge. This change has given us high-heel conscious girls more confidence to walk around for hours without the fear of falling over. It also gives our feet some much needed comfort for all hazardous weather conditions. It can be paired with a skirt for a comfortable fall look, or with jeans to add some style. When it comes to a splurge, here is pair from the famous Christian Louboutin for a whopping price of $1895. If you want a similar style without having to break the bank, here is a pair from DSW for just $79.95.

The Riding Boot

Riding boots are no longer just for people who ride or own horses, they have made there way on the catwalk and have made a splash. These boots are perfect paired with leggings, a chambray shirt and a colorful scarf. For a more conservative look, you can switch out the leggings for a pair of dark-colored denim. If you want to splurge on this style, check out these Salvadore Ferragamos for $795. To steal this look for less, check out DSW for these Bandolinos priced at $99.

TheMotorcycle Boot

The motorcycle boot is all the rage this season. They are the perfect ending to a skinny jean whether the jeans are colored, tuxedo, coated or just a basic jean. They compliment feminine florals and softer knits perfectly and complete a bad girl look when paired with a leather jacket. These boots are the perfect amount of drama and edge without going overboard. If you have the extra money to spend, look into these Ash boots from Asos for $543. If a steal is what you are looking for, Kohls is selling these Rock and Republic boots for $58.

Wine Colored Denim

12 Oct

Hey Guys!

I’m sure you guys have noticed that wine colored denim is all the rage this fall. While on a recent trip to the mall, I happened to walk into a Hollister and found these for an extremely reasonal price. I decided to pair them with a simple chiffon polka dot top that I got from Forever21. This top complimented these jewel toned denim perfectly. To complete the look I paired it with some classic black platform heels.
